Through a series of meetings and presentations, the Geo-Informatics for the Systematic Assessment of Flood Effects and Risks (Geo-SAFER) Agusan Project was able to gain support from Caraga’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Council and Disaster Preparedness Committee in conducting its activities and endeavors towards achieving a flood-resilient Agusan.

Towards Flood Resilience: Geo-SAFER Mindanao Program Officially Launched Date Posted: July 6, 2017
Last August 8, 2017, the Geo-SAFER Mindanao Program, also known as the “Geo-informatics for the Systematic Assessment of Flood Effects and Risks towards a Resilient Mindanao” was officially launched at the LMX Convention Center, Butuan City. Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Hon. Fortunato T. dela Peña graced the said event. It was also attended by program’s stakeholders, policy-makers and representatives from the different Government sectors across Mindanao. During the launching, the Geo-SAFER Mindanao’s partner agencies and Local Government Units were acknowledged for their commitments in helping the program reach its objectives in achieving flood-resilience through enhancing their flood disaster management and mitigation practices. |
